Olayinka Akinkuolie
Auditor
I joined the Office of the Comptroller & Auditor General in April 2018 as a Trainee Auditor.
I got attracted to work in this office because of its good reputation and the opportunity to contribute to the vital role of providing assurance that public funds are being well managed and used appropriately.
The office has offered me a good opportunity to train and gain professional qualifications while getting valuable on-the-job experience with incredible support from colleagues and line managers. Since I joined the office I have had the opportunity to audit large government departments and health sectors.
The office offers guidance and financial support for professional career development. Through hard work and dedication, I completed my professional exams in less than three years while also becoming an Auditor.
The office encourages flexible working time and has the culture that encourages staff to give their best using their discretion with minimal supervision.
There is a lot of hard work and detail that goes into each piece of audit and a great sense of fulfilment when the audits are signed off.
The office is very passionate about equality, well-being and mental health of the staff.
