Tony Peteh

Audit Manager

I joined the Office as an experienced hire coming from Big 4 in December 2019.

The main attraction for me was the Office’s reputation for professionalism and opportunity to continue to build my career with a professional organisation with a diverse portfolio of clients while contributing to public accountability.  On a day to day basis I have a role coaching and mentoring teams as well as dealing with audit and accounting issues that arise.

Since joining the Office I have had the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of financial audits in the public sector.  In addition to the financial audits, I also performed the Comptroller function which I found very interesting and provided a high level overview of different government projects and associated legislation.

On financial audits I spend lot of my time coaching, reviewing working papers and dealing with audit and accounting issues as they arise. The role entails interaction with external client staff on a regular basis

I have loved every minute of my time at the Office due to the diversity of client audits, as no two of my clients are the same. In addition the complexity of some of the audits means that I have had to brush up my technical audit and accounting competencies.

As an engagement manager, I have really appreciated that the Office makes every effort to ensure that the audit teams are adequately staffed with the right mix of skills and experience.

One big draw to the Office is its 100% commitment to work life balance, making it easier to put in focused quality time during working hours and then to totally disconnect and take up hobbies after working hours and over the weekend.
