Eisiúint do na Meáin - Scéim Ghaeilge 2021 – 2024

12 Aibreáin 2021

Tá Scéim nua Ghaeilge d’Oifig an Ard-Reachtaire Cuntas agus Ciste, a chlúdaíonn an tréimhse 2021 - 2024, ceadaithe ag an Aire Turasóireachta, Cultúir, Ealaíon, Gaeltachta, Spóirt agus Meán.

Foilsítear an scéim de réir Acht na dTeangacha Oifigiúla 2003 agus tiocfaidh sí i bhfeidhm ón 12 Aibreán 2021. Fanfaidh sí i bhfeidhm go ceann trí bliana nó go dtí go mbeidh scéim nua daingnithe, cibé acu is déanaí.

Tá ábhar na scéime bunaithe ar thaithí na hOifige ar scéimeanna roimhe seo agus tá sé treoraithe ag an bprionsabal gur chóir go mbeadh soláthar seirbhísí Gaeilge bunaithe ar:

  • leibhéal éilimh bunúsach ar sheirbhísí ar leith trí mheán na Gaeilge
  • tábhacht atá le cur chuige réamhghníomhach i leith soláthar na seirbhísí sin, agus
  • na hacmhainní, acmhainní daonna agus airgeadais san áireamh, agus ar acmhainneacht na Roinne an cumas teanga riachtanach a fhorbairt nó rochtain a dhéanamh air.

Foráiltear leis an scéim go bhfoilseofar i mBéarla agus i nGaeilge cuntais leithreasa iniúchta ranna agus oifigí rialtais, an Tuarascáil ar Chuntais na Seirbhísí Poiblí agus tuarascálacha corparáideacha eile.

Is oifigeach bunreachtúil neamhspleách é an tArd-Reachtaire Cuntas agus Cuntas atá freagrach as iniúchadh a dhéanamh ar chistí poiblí. Tuairiscíonn sé do Dháil Éireann.

Media Release – Irish Language Scheme 2021 – 2024

12 April 2021

A new Irish Language Scheme for the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General, covering the period 2021 - 2024, has been approved by the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

The scheme is published in accordance with the Official Languages Act 2003 and takes effect from 12 April 2021. It will remain in force for three years or until a new scheme has been confirmed, whichever is later.

The content of the scheme has been informed by the experience of the Office of previous schemes and is guided by the principle that the provision of Irish language services should be based on:

  • the underlying level of demand for specific services in the Irish language
  • the importance of a proactive approach to the provision of such services, and
  • the resources, including human and financial resources, and capacity to develop or access the necessary language capability.

The scheme provides for the publication in both English and Irish of the audited appropriation accounts of government departments and offices, the Report on the Accounts of the Public Services and other corporate reports.

Notes for editors:

The Comptroller and Auditor General is an independent constitutional officer with responsibility for the audit of public funds. He reports to Dáil Éireann.
