Procurement
The Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General adheres to national guidelines and a range of European Union directives in relation to the procurement of products and services.
The Deputy Director of Corporate Services within the office acts as the procurement officer. Their role is to ensure that the office’s procurement policy, procedures and practices comply with EU law and National Guidelines.
The Procurement Officer also provides support and advice as and when it is required by staff and to ensure procurement is compliant with EU law and National Guidelines.

Procurement Procedures
Within the Office, all contracts with an estimated value above €25,000 and below the European Union (EU) threshold of €135,000 must be advertised on www.etenders.gov.ie. This is a central facility for all public sector contracting authorities to advertise procurement opportunities and contracts are awarded in accordance with National Public Procurement Guidelines.
All contracts with an estimated value above the EU threshold of €135,000 must be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). Contracts are awarded in accordance with the provisions of the EU Public Procurement Directive 2014/24/EU. This directive was implemented into Irish law by European Union Regulations.
