This chapter focuses on movable heritage assets held by the Department of Arts, heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Office of Public Works. On foot of the results of internal audit reviews this examination was undertaken to review policies, practices and procedures in place.

This report reviews the management of the national collection of some 4 million heritage objects, particularly the documentation of the collections and accessibility to them by the public and researchers. It also examines the arrangements for strategy setting and risk management.
